Lexen has welcomed yesterday’s announcement of the Federal Government’s new HomeBuilder grant.
The HomeBuilder scheme will give eligible owner-occupiers access to a $25,000 grant to go towards the cost of building a new home up to the value of $750,000 where the contract is signed between 4 June 2020 and 31 December 2020. Construction must commence within three months of the contract date.
HomeBuilder is available to couples with a combined income of less than $200,000 per year and individuals earning less than $125,000 per year.
The additional $25,000 towards their new property will provide buyers with confidence in this challenging economic climate to take that next step in building their new home.
This stimulus package will help the construction industry and the broader Australian economy with a much-needed financial boost, ensuring the property market is well positioned to recover from the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
In addition to the HomeBuilder scheme, there is also a range of First Home Owner grants available from the states & territories. The Queensland State Government is offering $15,000 for First Home Buyers and stamp duty concessions.
